Thank you Custom Crops for sponsoring my participation in the Bitten by the Bug2 blog hop again this month.  Custom Crops is a wonderful on-line retailer for all of your cricut and paper craft needs.  Their prices are amazing - in fact I purchased an Imagine cartridge and new mats for my personal use this week - at great prices!!!  Do take time to go check out the new products and the great SALE at Custom Crops.

Blog Candy Winner

Happy Thursday!   I am in getting ready to leave for Atlanta, GA for the Cricut Circle Crop, but before I run out the door I need to take care of a little blogger business.

The winner of this month's Custom Crops $25.00 gift voucher is Jamie.  Jamie, I really hope you enjoy your mini-shopping spree!

I have decided to take two kits to work on in Atlanta.  I have a Theresa Collins wedding album that looks fun as well as a 8 x 17 inch album I purchased at CKC convention last summer.  Between the two I will have more than enough to keep me busy for the day.

I will give a detailed Circle Crop report next week.  But now I must dash off to finish getting ready!!

Hello Kitty Thanksgiving Layout Revisit

It's time for a look back at my favorite Thanksgiving project from 2009.  I really loved this Hello Kitty Happy Thanksgiving layout!  Kitty as a Pilgrim - Kitty as a Native American... Kitty's Thanksgiving feast!  How fun!

I created this project for Custom Crops and it is still available for free through their on-line store.  There is an article that contains complete cutting and assembly instructions, materials needed and the CUT FILE (!!) - again all for free.

You will need four Cricut cartridges to create this layout - Hello Kitty Greetings, Paper Doll Dress Up, Plantin Schoolbook, and Opposite Attract.  Follow this link to Custom Crops for all of the details.

Sweet Dreams Little Lamb Layout, Cut File and Video

The new projects released yesterday at Custom Crops and my contribution is this cute layout made with Create A Critter and Plantin Schoolbook cartridges.  The cut file, complete assembly instuctions, and video link are available at Custom Crops. Just click on my Custom Crops blinkie to be taken to my page.   The video includes a segment on stamping your paper prior to cutting.

Oh, and while you are visiting Custom Crops you might want to check out the fabulous Melissa Francis papers used to create this layout!

Man of Steel - Superman - Super Dad Card with Cut File

I have a new project this week at Custom Crops, a Father's Day card featuring Superman and Just Because Cards cartridges.  The card reads, "Man of Steel - Superman - Super Dad".  The phrase Super Dad is on the inside of the card.

For full instructions and "how to" photos as well as the Cricut Design Studio cut file, visit my page at Custom Crops and download the file.

Little Red Riding Hood Layout with Cut File

I was a day late in posting this week's Custom Crops project - Hey There Little Red Riding Hood.  Custom Crops challenged us to use the Jubilee cartidge.  While I have done cute house cards and layouts with Jubilee, I wanted to use something a little different for the challenge.  Then I found the tree and grass cut!  Forest.  And who is in the forest?  That wolf waiting for Little Red Riding Hood!

LRRH was created using Everyday Paper Dolls and the wolf is from Create a Critter!  I also used George for a circle and the photo mats and letters.  The cut file as well as detailed instructions are available by clicking the Custom Crops blinkie in the left column.

This was a really fun layout and I hope that you too are able to enjoy it!

When Life Gives You Lemons Card with Cut File

I have three words for you:  JUST BECAUSE CARDS!   Yes, I could end this post here and know that I had shared an important message with you.  I COULD end here, but we all know I am not going to!! LOL

The cut file for this card, as well as detailed instructions, are available at Custom Crops. In the article at Custom Crops you will also find links to the papers that I used on this card. I just have to modestly (NOT AT ALL) tell you that I ADORE this card. It is so cheerful and fun.

The photo above shows the inside of the card.  Even with the cricut cuts on the inside there is still plenty of room for you to add your own personalized message.

This is a side view of the card.  Click the Custom Crops blinkie near the top of the blog and that will take you to my design page at Custom Crops.  Please do leave a comment while you are there.  We love project comments.

Tomorrow is the release of the Cricut Cake. Be sure to stop back by for my latest annoucement.

A Two-fer Project with Cut File

Yes you read that title correctly, I did write "two-fer"; as in "two for the price of one!"   That is the concept behind my tag project at Custom Crops.  I used the Very Merry Tags cartridge and created an Easter tag which would also be simply adorable as a baby gift tag, hence the "two-fer".

So often we limit ourselves by what we see on a cartridge and we tend to forget that this entire hobby is about being creative.  My advice is to think outside the cartridge.  Think of what you would like to create then look at the cartridges and see how the shapes can be welded to create what you have in mind.  That was the case with the cut tag.  I used the mittens tag as a base on which to add by Lamb and Bunny faces.

If you have not already purchased the Very Merry Tags cartridge, Custom Crops has a few copies left in stock and the last time I looked they were retailing for $12.00!!!  You should truly snap this cartridge up before they are all gone.  As you can see, you can do so much more than just Christmas Tags!!!

Easter Cards - Two From One

Have you been by Custom Crops yet this week to check out this week's new articles and projects?  There is a whole lot of Easter going on at CC!  And of course I contributed to the Easter Fest.  Using Cricut Design Studio I designed one cut file that creates two great cards!  The first card is my sad, sad attempt at humor and the second offers the opportunity for Easter stamping.

The first card features two chocolate bunnies in conversation.  Sadly the bunny on the right cannot hear as well as he used to.... Someone bit off his ear!!   This silly card sports several techniques:  the front is framed in a welded border frame, the bunnies are elevated using pop dots, and the voice balloons use the mini gel pen adaptor in the Cricut to write the words, then finally the balloons were cut after replacing the Cricut's housing blade.

The inside of the card has a large balloon with the Happy Easter phrase and a background of printed paper also cut with the Cricut.

The second card had a scalloped background, two chocolate bunnies and is trimmed with a ribbon and bow.  The inside of the card is blank so that you can customize the card according to your preference.  I used this cute Easter stamp set and pink Stampin' Up ink.

You will find the cut file and complete instructions for these cards at Custom Crops.  Follow the blinkie on the upper left side of my blog to go directly to my page at Custom Crops.

If you have not already done so, please leave a comment under the previous post, BBTB2, so that you can be including in the drawing for a $20.00 certificate from SCRAP YOUR TRIP!!

New Project with Cut File and Assembly Instructions

Custom Crops posted this weeks new project/articles last Monday and this was my contribution:  Bridal Shower Ohh La La Gift Card Holder.   Not being a fan of lingerie bridal showers, I created this cute gift card holder to allow the bride a bit of modesty as well as the opportunity to select her own unmentionables.

This cut file was created entirely with the new Forever Young cartridge.  I used Basic Grey paper as well as Core'dination cardstock.  I especially like that the flowers work as the closure on the card.  For full instructions and the cut file follow the blinkie on my blog (or click on the project title in the previous paragraph) to visit my page at Custom Crops.  And don't forget to shop for the necessary supplies and check out the sale while you are at the Custom Crops site.

And The Winner IS.......

It is Thursday evening and that means it is time for me to select a blog candy winner.  Being the very unscientific me, I asked my dh to pick a number between 1 - 128.  And the winner is.....
Crafty Carrie!!!

Congratulations Carrie!!!  When you get a moment I will need your email address in order to provide you with the gift voucher information.

Thank you again to Custom Crops for sponsoring my blog in the February BBTB2 Blog Hop.

Hello Kitty Cupcake Wraps with Cut File and Instructions

Have you been by Custom Crops this week?  They are having a sale, which started today AND, as they do every week, they released the designers' new projects last Monday.  I have new a Hello Kitty Cupcake Wrappers project, complete with the cut file and instructions.

The wrappers are much easier to make than you would imagine and they look adorable on the Wilton cupcake tower rack.  I also shared a great recipe for "from scratch" chocolate cupcakes.  And Kitty looks awesome holding pink frosted chocolate cupcakes!

It's Snow Fun Layout

For some readers this winter has been filled with harsh, blustery weather. There has been an abundance of snow and ice, wintery winds and snow days for school children. And though most adults find the wintery weather tedious, children have ideas of their own on what to do with the white stuff.  In that spirit I designed this layout, It's Snow Fun, for Custom Crops.

The cut file uses only two Cricut cartridges, Winter Woodlands and Everyday Paper Dolls, and is available for download at Custom Crops at THIS link.  Full instructions for cutting and assembling the layout are available.

You should note that this layout uses the mini gel pen holder and mini gel pens to create the blue outline snowflakes.  For those who have not used the mini gel pen holder, you remove the blade housing from your Cricut and replace it with the gel pen holder.  Your Cricut will then draw any image that you would normally cut.

Last Minute Valentine Card with Cut File

You still have four more days in which to craft a fabulous card for your Valentine(s).  My project at Custom Crops this week, Love Stamp Valentine, will make you a Valentine's Day superstar.  Follow this LINK for complete instructions and the cut file at Custom Crops. This card is actually easy to cut and assemble, but will look like you spent HOURS slaving over the craft table!!

Valentine Layout and Cut File - New Custom Crops Project

My l-o-n-g holiday break (December and January) officially ended last week.  I am back to submitting projects to both design teams AND to Custom Crops.  My latest Custom Crops project, complete with cut file, is titled Valentine Love Layout.  I truly like this layout and cannot wait to use it!!!

For complete assembly directions and the cut file, please visit my page at Custom Crops.  In addition to the directions and the cut file, I also added links to the paper used in the project.  I just love this new line of SEI paper -  Juliette!!!

Cooking Up Some Fun

Sorry for the delay but I am going to share another of my projects at Custom Crops this week. Is there a cookie exchange in your future???  I hosted a cookie exchange two weeks ago where we shared cookies and recipes.  I used the From My Kitchen cartridge and dressed my recipe up in this flip up oven door card.

I used the oven cut, stretched a bit wider than normal, and welded two oven doors to create the flip up recipe-oven-door.  The pdf'ed recipe fits perfectly in the flip up area.

Complete directions and the cut file, along with the recipe for my favorite Christmas cookie, are available at Custom Crops.  Click HERE for all for the everything you need to create your own oven recipe cards.

HO HO HO Jolly Christmas Layout

Over the next few days I share highlights of my new projects at Custom Crops this week.  This first is a cute, cute Christmas layout featuring paper doll elves and Santa. I really like this layout.  And I love how the Peachy Keen paperdoll stamps made the faces look so professional.

Inaddition to the many Christmas elements - the Elves and Santa, the packages, and the snowflakes, the layout also includes space for four of your favorite Christmas photos and space where you can journal if you would like.  Simply omit the snowflake and packages from the tag on the lower right page and you will have a perfect journaling square.

A close up of the cute little Santa:

And finally one more look a the two page spread:

Complete instructions and the file download are available at Custom Crops.  There are so many cute Christmas project at CC.... And a sale that ends WEDNESDAY NIGHT!!!!  Don't sit there... click over to CC!!!
