My Crazy Dog's Craziest Moment Yet....
I have mentioned my dog Duncan so often in the past that I could not pass up the opportunity to share his craziest moment ever... Or at least his craziest moment to date.
You may recall that I told you how Duncan reacts when I receive a delivery, barking and whining, trying to get to the box and open it for himself. Well today's delivery from UPS (my new Creative Memories Cartridge, by the way) arrived, Duncan immediately went into delivery dog mode!
I took the package and put it on the kitchen counter, stupidly thinking that would discourage Duncan's crazy behavior. In the meantime I went into the next room. I heard Duncan made a couple of jumps and yelps at the box, but I thought he would realize that he could not get the box. Then I heard a drawer open and Duncan gave a little bark. The photo above is what I found when I went back into the kitchen to investigate.
There he hung by his harness, looking pathetic. After screatching OH MY GOSH, DUNCAN! I ran to the other room and grabbed the camera to snap a couple of photos. If I had taken the time to check I would have realized the camera was set on micro mode - so the photos were a bit grainy. However, at least I captured the moment!
And here he is, Duncan the wonder dog, resting atop dad, getting his tummy petted. None the worse for wear, and still my crazy fur-boy!!

It's Here - It's Here
On Wednesday morning MFK (my friend Kathy) called and we were having an A.M. chat when suddenly my dog, Duncan the Wonder Dog, went crazy barking!! I should tell you that Duncan goes crazy barking when the mail lady is on our street, when the UPS truck is in the neighborhood, when the kids across the street are out playing without him, when the lawn service guy comes to treat the lawn, when someone is out walking a dog, or when someone comes to the door. He does, however, have a "special-crazy" level of intensity for delivery people to our house. As I was "chatting it up" with Kathy, I recognized the "special-crazy" barking, heard the doorbell ring, and strolled past crazy dog to the front door. And what did I spy outside my front door? A big box from Cricut!!!!
"Oooh, Kathy! My E2 is here!!", I screeched into the phone. Kathy is such a good person, she did not say a word as I most certainly burst her eardrum! Well we decided right then and there that Kathy HAD to come over, because let's be honest, Cricut packs these boxes so that four arms are required for easy product unpacking!
While awaiting Kathy's arrival, I moved the box into the house. However, Duncan thought HE should open the box. In the last few months Duncan has decided that all packages delivered to our house are for him. He tries to open all boxes, lays on smaller packages, and grumps, growls and fusses when we take the package away from him. I put the E2 box up on a desk to keep Duncan from ripping the box open.
After opening the E2 and visiting with Kathy, I put the new Expression 2 on my Cricut desk. It just fits between the Imagine and original Expression machines!
In the photo below you can see Duncan in the Cricut shipping box. He carried on about the box when Kathy arrived she suggested putting him inside the box. I approved her suggestion and she placed him inside the box. It was funny - he relaxed and looked quite happy, though even when he wanted out he would not jump out. He patiently waited for Kathy to lift him out. I think she may have found a way for us to break him of his package attacks - give him a timeout inside a box!!!

Bitten by the Bug Blog Hoppin' Monday (with CANDY!)
Welcome blog hoppers, to Busy with the Cricky. You probably arrived here from the blog of the fabulous Penny.
Today's BBTB challenge cut is the ribbon from Paper Pups. I combined the idea of a winner's ribbon with our sweet Pomeranian, Duncan, and my dh's approaching birthday. Duncan adores my husband so I know he will want to participate in the birthday festivities.
Duncan's card is bone shaped with the blue ribbon attached. I ran the dog collar through the spellbinder wizard to emboss a pattern. I then attached Duncan's faux tag. I used MS PowerPoint to create the birthday tag featuring the phrase, "Best Dad a dog can own". I also created Duncan's faux name tag in PowerPoint.
Inside the card I used a Stampin' Up birthday cake stamp and Happy Birthday stamp as well as a hand drawn puppy paw.
While you are here be sure to leave a comment to be registered to win today's blog candy. I will be drawing a name on Thursday. Also, be sure to view the previous blog post and guess at the number of times my cut files have been downloaded and a chance to win a small blog candy.
I know you must now move on to see what awaits you at the amazing Carole's blog. Thanks for stopping by today.

Doggie Update

Our new family member, our little sweet Pomeranian boy, has been with us for a little over week now and all I can say is - we completely love him! We have renamed him Duncan, which he is beginning to respond to, probably because we say it with such affection. Well that and three of us call him Duncan constantly... Duncan is a character in a movie our family likes and watches over and over. Duncan is kind-hearted loyal friend. We thought the the name fit our little guy well.
Duncan has a funny sense of humor and loves to play - almost as much as he loves to snuggle. And what a snuggler he is!!! Sadly, he has exhibited some behaviors that suggest his first owner may have been unkind to him. But we are convinced with love, patience, kindness, spoiling, and devotion he will overcome any unpleasant memories. We are just thankful that Ms. Mary rescued him and allowed us to adopt.
We feel very blessed to have Duncan as part of our family... And we hope he feels the same about us.

My Family Grew By One Today
Yes, it's true - my family grew by one today, but gained four legs!! My husband and I made a little road trip (nearly 6 hours of driving) and adopted a one year old male Pomeranian!!! He is so lovable, but he seems to be trying to become a daddy's boy!!! Anyway, isn't he cute?
Since I spent a big part of the day in the car and trying to get the dog settled into a new home I did absolutely NO crafting today. But guess what??? I think I can safely post a preview of the cards I made for the stamp club swap!
I made sympathy cards; morose but true. I was trying for uplifting sympathy cards... if you can imagine. I found a nice stamp (half price sale) last week at Hobby Lobby and thought I would give it a try.
I used white cards, DCWV SWEET paper, teal card stock, and Stampin' Up ink. Oh yes - and butterflies cut last night with my new Home Decor cartridge
and embossed with the Swiss Dot folder.
I hope the club likes them... I think they came out nicely.
