Pearl Necklace

Chanel once said "a woman should wear ropes and ropes of pearls". Agreed! Thom Browne for spring (left) and then a few weeks ago at Donna Karan for Fall 2011. I don't recommend running for the train in the knee length Mr. Browne used to accessorize his schoolboy blazer, I like the exaggeration of an opera length (48 to 120 inches long) worn casually. Donna Karan's marble-sized princess length looks elegant & unapologetically faux.

Bracelet

This bracelet from 5th Avenue Designs by Veronica reminds me of spring with its beautiful green color and pretty roses. It also has that vintage glam feel that I love.

Accessory tips for the spring 2011

1. A chunky bracelet on each wrist lends stylish symmetry to a pretty work dress. (Etro mastered the look, far left.) A resin design from BCBG or a pair of weighty metal cuffs will deliver maximum impact.

2. Silk Scarf- Easiest styling trick ever: tie a silk scarf around your neck bandana-like for an instant print pick-me-up. Echo DKNY (far left) with matching shoes for a bright finish.

3.  Layered Chains- Cascading strands are an unabashedly feminine complement to a dress or suit (note Oscar de la Renta's take on the look, far left). A Forever 21 necklace mixes ropes of faux pearls with metal chains for an eclectic romantic effect.

4. Another fav. of mine Flower Pins- A silk corsage adds a welcome dose of femininity to menswear-inspired separates at Jason Wu, far left. Get plucky and cluster a trio together, using rosettes like this one.

Trend Alert: J'adore this Bulgari Serpenti 7 Coil Watch

I am in love with this watch!  Italian fashion house Bulgari presents this year’s Bulgari Serpenti 7 Coil Watch edition from luxury Serpenti Watch collection. This expensive watch has a stylish shape which resembles a snake’s body and is both unusual bracelet and extravagant watch. It’s naturally extended by the curved and polished case of the watch which houses a Swiss quartz movement specially customised for Bulgari.

Stack 'em up girls! Bangles are trendy & their cheap. :)

Some women love wearing jewelry, some are never seen wearing as much as a ring on their finger. But one of the easiest ways to dress up an outfit is to add some jewelry.

History of the Bangle
This trend for summer is not new to the fashion world. In fact, Egyptian and Indian women would usually wear this bracelet in multiples for an elegant look. In many cultures, the knocking sounds that these bracelets made was seen as a way to ward off evil spirits. Did you know that?
Today the bangles are worn all up the arm in a variety of colors and styles. Some are thick and colorful and some are as simple as a thin, gold bangle.

Celebrity Favorites
Today, the bangles are extremely popular, especially for people who love the Bohemian style look. They resemble a free spirit and are the simplest way to dress up an outfit with jewelry. Here are some of your favorite celebrities wearing bangles!

As one fashion tip, try mixing and matching your circle bangles with square ones for a fun, playful look. My personal favorite is mixing thin silver bangles with the gold bangles.

I’m loving this trend and love the Boho style they give any outfit…..and of course, who doesn’t love the clicking sound of all your bangles stacked up high on your arm?! It’s a show stopper for sure!

Trend Alert: Oversized cocktail rings

Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but semi-precious stones are a great companion when it comes to big, bold rings. Made from topaz & citrine on the high end and glass and cubic zirconia on the low end.  Enormous statement rings are everywhere this season. The styles below are both funky and classy at the same time. Here's a look at some of my favorite over-sized rings at various price points.

Kenneth Jay Lane Angel Skin Coral Cabochon Ring w/ Rose Crystal Center. Gold, Angel Skin, Rose oversized cocktail ring. A pretty pastel addition to your spring and summer wardrobe. KJL cocktail rings are glamorous and timeless jewelry pieces.

Jewelry Tip:

From Oscar de la Renta's Spring 2011 Jewelry Runway Show to Celebrities on the Red Carpet, Emeralds and Sapphires are the popular picks for jewelry. The green accessories are so glamorous that I think every girl needs to have at least one standout emerald item in her jewelry box.
