On The Red Carpet - Vanity Fair's Krista Smith's Style

I don't know what you will be doing tonight, but I will be watching Vanity Fair's Krista Smith and Tim Gunn in their Oscar's Pre Show on ABC
(since I don't have TV at home this is going to take some maneuvering, but I will see this show)

From the Vanity Fair website
Oscars Fashion: Krista Smith Opts for Armani

Vanity Fair’s West Coast editor Krista Smith, who’ll co-host ABC’s Oscars pre-show on Sunday alongside Robin Roberts, Tim Gunn, and Maria Menounos, will wear Armani, complemented with Beladora jewels. The long navy gown and Art Deco–style jewelry were picked for their Old Hollywood feel, Smith says: “I will be doing my best to channel Rita Hayworth—although, considering she was one of the great beauties, it might be a stretch,” she laughs. “At least it will be my mindset!”

Channeling Rita Hayworth - not a bad idea except for the smoking
she was Hollywood glamour personified

so Krista will be wearing Armani and Art Deco Estate Jewelry (from you know where)
that's a whole lot of awesomeness.

unlike Wendy B and her fancy backless Zang Toi dress, the closest I'm ever going to get to Graydon and his Vanity Fair Oscar bash is loaning out a little Beladora bling.

Lindsey Lohan Channels Grace Kelly in Vanity Fair

It's cold and damp and drizzling outside and guess what...
I am happy
Look what came in the mail today
I've been anxiously waiting for the October issue of Vanity Fair to arrive so that I could let you know that some vintage jewelry from Beladora2.com made the Grace Kelly inspired Lindsey Lohan photo shoot styled by Jessica Diehl.
OK, so Beladora2 did not make the cover shoot
but we are more than thrilled to be in this sensational two page photo by Norman Jean Roy.
Here's the bracelet

Here's another simple yest elegant bracelet that was also used in the shoot

So please, if you don't subscribe to Vanity Fair, pick up a copy or borrow a copy from a friend so that you can see these gorgeous photos.

The Selby Project

I have so much blogging and business to catch up with after a week away from the internet and the office.
Hopefully I will get back to reading the bazillion or so blogs that I follow in the next day or two.

In the meantime I leave you this video from Vanity Fair with portrait, interior and fashion photographer Todd Selby who shoots creative people in their natural habitats. The video focuses on his collaboration with Louis Vuitton but check out his website The Selby if, like me, you love interior design and are just a t'wee bit voyeuristic.
Yes, I admit it, I love to see how the creative hipsters from London to Los Angeles, from Milan to Mexico, live.

Vanity Fair- The September Issue

OK, I admit that I just wasn't all that interested in the Lady Gaga cover story but the photography by Nick Knight was stunning
and every other article in the September issue was stellar.
If you aren't a subscriber, go out and buy the magazine today.  No really, it has everything you want in summer magazine reading
from a profile of the exquisite Jacqueline de Ribes, the last queen of Paris
Here's a photo of Countess de Ribes looking a-ma-zing

to a story on the messy family fight over the estate of socialite/designer/playboy/licensor extraordinaire, Oleg Cassini, who bagged all the babes from Gene Tierney to Grace Kelly to Anita Ekberg
yet kept his 30 year marriage to Marianne Nestor a secret.
Here's Oleg with his "Top Girl" first wife, Gene Tierney.

to an article on sleazy Kenneth Starr and how he bilked his society and entertainment clients out of millions.  How did this man ever get his hands on Bunny Mellon's money?  I just love this quote "When your business manager marries a stripper" says one ruefull client, "that's a tell." Ya think?
Here's a photo of the fraudulent financial advisor and his fourth wife, stripper Diane Passage.

There's lots of other great stuff too including the the international best dressed list which I previously posted about, the preppy handbook rebooted, and Fall Fashion must haves with suggestions from fashion bloggers including The Trad.  (Admittedly I'm a little confused on why they didn't contact me for my opinion on jewelry trends...maybe next year. Sam, you know how to reach me)
Even the ads are awesome with fabulous Fall clothes.
Vanity Fair, job well done

Vanity Fair - The International Best Dressed List

Well, I finally received my copy of the September issue...no, not Vogue but Vanity Fair with the 2010 International Best Dressed List
While as usual I didn't agree with all of the choices on their list I couldn't argue with
Princess Mary of Denmark

Jay Penske

Ed Burns and Christy Turlington

I would have liked to have seen Victoria Beckham, Tilda Swinton, blogger Metscan, Nick Cannon and blogger James Andrew.
Who would you have added to the list?

Vanity Fair Beauties and Vintage Beladora

Just out, the picture that I've been waiting for
the young actresses group portrait from Vanity Fair
photographed by the Annie Leibovitz
with jewelry from Beladora.com
worn by Amanda Seyfried, Rebecca Hall and Anna Kendrick

Yeah, I'm happy
really happy
And the choice of jewelry for these beautiful young actresses couldn't be better
Since you can't see the jewelry in detail in this photo
I do hope that you will buy the magazine

This opportunity to have Beladora vintage jewelry in this photo wouldn't have happened without the deskside interviews in New York last November made possible by the very capable, diligent and charming Jackie Feldman, of PR firm extraordinaire Fifteen Minutes, founded by the brilliant Howard Bragman.

Thank you Jackie and Howard

and stylist Michael Roberts, and Vanity Fair
